São Paulo, Brazil, – (November 7, 2016) – Christie®, a leader in creating and delivering the world’s best visual and audio experiences, is set to have a major presence at Expocine 2016 (São Paulo, Brazil, November 16-18). Together with Dolby, in Suite 4, Christie will emulate a small cinema theatre that will be equipped with a Christie CP2208-LP laser phosphor cinema projector, Dolby® Atmos™audio format and speakers from the Christie Vive Audio™ LA Series.
This boutique theatre, which will be fitted with a 5.5 x 2.3 meters Severtson white screen, will be screening trailers for the latest Dolby Atmos movie titles. The unrivaled combination of Christie Vive Audio and Dolby Atmos will provide the room with the best possible cinematic audio capabilities.
“We are thrilled to offer our visitors at Expocine the possibility to experience a realistic movie experience in Suite 4 that will provide highly immersive cinema sound and exceptional image performance,” said Ricardo Laporta, Territory Sales Manager, Cinema, Christie Brazil.
Specifically, the mini-theatre will be outfitted with LA Series screen channel loudspeakers, subwoofers and surround speakers featuring planar ribbon driver technology and Christie’s innovative single enclosure fixed arcuate line array design. Combined, they offer unmatched clarity and total horizontal and vertical coverage, for an unparalleled listening experience.
Visitors to Dolby/Christie’s Suite 4 will also be able to see a number of static speakers of the Christie Vive Audio LS Series, a cost-effective cinema audio platform that provides accurate reproduction of high dynamic range and high resolution DCI-specified audio, ideal for deployment in small-to-medium sized auditoriums.
The installation and integration of all the audio and video components of the boutique theatre will be carried out by Centauro, a Christie partner in Brazil, while the seats will be provided by Santa Clara Poltronas, a Brazilian manufacturer of theatre seats and distributor of cinema equipment.
Guests to Suite 4 will be greeted as if they were arriving to a real cinema theatre thanks to a digital marquee composed by a line of four Christie FHD552-X HD LCD panels that will show contents related to Christie Vive Audio and Christie RGB laser technology. Also at the entrance of the room there will be a Christie Captiva DHD400S ultra short throw 1DLP® laser phosphor projector screening various contents onto a blackwall.
As part of Christie’s sponsorship of the show, Christie received the naming rights for Expocine’s VIP room, which will be labeled “VIP Lounge by Christie.” At this room, all registered VIP attendees will be entitled to enjoy an exclusive space for rest, private environment for conversations and business meetings, as well as delicacies and snacks.
The “VIP Lounge by Christie” will feature a video wall with six Christie FHD461XB HD LCD panels in a 3 x 2 configuration. Made in Brazil, these panels are rounded out with local service and support for complete peace of mind and deliver a superior tiled experience and performance at an affordable price. This video wall will be managed by Christie Pandoras Box media servers, a cost-effective turnkey solution that more perfectly unites state-of-the-art rendering technology with intuitive media and show control.
In addition, MasterImage, a manufacturer of stereoscopic 3D systems for theaters, will feature in its suite two 2 x 2 video walls using Christie FHD461XB LCD panels.
