Green PA Systems and Lecterns from Amplivox Sound Systems Naterial taken from our Going Green Page: http://www.ampli.com/gogreen.htm ---------------------------------------------------- From environment friendly packaging to post consumer materials used in our products we are striving to reduce, reuse and recycle to conserve energy for the future. We believe that everyone can positively affect their impact upon the environment and here are the steps that AmpliVox has taken to ensure that we are doing our part... * RoHS / WEEE Compliant o What's RoHS? (RoHS Directive (2002/95/EC)) + The Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS) Directive was passed into law by the European Union (E.U.). It affects manufacturers, sellers, distributors and recyclers of electrical and electronic equipment containing lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chrome, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE). After July 1, 2006 the use of these materials will be banned in all products for Europe. The RoHS Directive complements the WEEE Directive. o What's WEEE? (WEEE Directive (2002/96/EC)) + The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) apply to companies that manufacture, sell, distribute, recycle or treat electrical and electronic equipment and to consumers in the E.U. It covers all household appliances, IT equipment, radio and audio equipment, electrical tools and telecommunications equipment. The Directive aims to reduce the waste arising from electrical and electronic equipment and to improve the environmental performance of all those involved in the life cycle of these products. * Our Lecterns and Podiums are also... o "Forest Friendly" - No trees are cut to produce Amplivox products! Recovered and recycled post-industrial wood residues are used, which helps to stretch forest resources. Composite wood panels made with resins aid timber conservation since they enable wood waste (chips and sawdust) to be used in 5x more construction panels than solid wood or plywood panels.1 Solid chain-of-custody wood fiber supply practiceshave also enabled Amplivox wood Suppliers to secure the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Mixed Sources accreditation (SW-COC-003089). o Made from Recycled Materials - "Urban or post-consumer recycled wood fibersare usedwithin the Amplivox wood Supplier panel production mix, which enables these recycled wood fibers to have an extended life instead of ending up in landfills or being burned in incinerators. Green Cross has certified our raw particleboard panelsas being 100% recycled and recovered wood fiber." o No Added Urea Formaldahyde Particleboard o MDF o Cork * Synergy panels qualify for LEED Credits. # We Also Offer 100% rapidly renewable resources like Bamboo. # Our Lecterns are CARB Compliant - "Finished Goods Comply With CARB California 93120 Phase 1 Formaldehyde Emission Standar
