AmpliVox Sound Systems is proud to announce that they will once again supply distinctive pink megaphones to the staff of the Komen Greater NYC Race for the Cure, to be held on Sunday, September 8 in Central Park. AmpliVox, a manufacturer of top-quality sound and presentation equipment in Northbrook, Illinois, is donating 50 of its "Pink Power" megaphones to the race as part of its established program of donating lecterns and megaphones to support breast cancer fundraising, advocacy, and education events around the nation.
AmpliVox's corporate commitment to the fight against breast cancer began in 2010 with the launch of the "Pink Podium Promise" donation program. Inspired by a family member who served as a breast cancer advocate and public speaker, AmpliVox CEO Don Roth had his company's popular durable plastic lecterns manufactured in the signature pink of breast cancer awareness. Roth, a cancer survivor himself, then offered a free pink lectern to any interested group for use in educational and fundraising events.
The lecterns were soon appearing center stage at medical conferences, races, breast health seminars, and other events nationwide. Over 200 AmpliVox lecterns have been distributed to a wide variety of organizations, including a significant number to Komen for the Cure local affiliates. In 2012, AmpliVox added a pink version of its 10-watt megaphone to the program. The megaphones, which weigh just two pounds and project sound for up to 100 yards, received an enthusiastic response from race organizers and attracted the attention of the Komen Greater NYC affiliate.
AmpliVox supplied megaphones to the 2012 NYC Race for the Cure, which were stationed at locations throughout the 5K race route in Central Park. With over 21,000 participants, the megaphones became an essential tool for organizers to provide information and encouragement to runners and their supporters.
"We're glad to continue our support of the Komen Greater NYC Race for the Cure with our Pink Power megaphones," commented Roth. "AmpliVox's megaphones are the perfect tools to keep everyone on track during this massive event, and we're happy to participate in another outstanding effort to help stamp out breast cancer."
