Apantac Launches 2nd Generation UE Multiviewers with Cascading Functions

Sept. 3, 2020 - Apantac, an internationally recognized manufacturer of multiviewers, video walls, extension and signal processing solutions announces its second generation of the UE Series of Multiviewers with enhanced cascading functions.

The UE Series includes Multiviewers that support either 4 or 8 4K/UHD HDMI 2.0 inputs as well as HDMI 2.0 and 12G outputs. Models are available with or without KVM Functions. As with all TAHOMA Multiviewers, the UE Series if fully featured, offering full audio support, serial interface as well as Ethernet connection for configuration and external control. This series also has an advanced On-Screen Display (OSD), which includes graphic objects added to a layout, such as labels, clocks, dynamic UMD and tallies, alarms, meters, markers and more.

Apantac now announces its second generation of UE multiviewers, which include a cascading feature, are more compact (almost half the depth) and consume less power. The UE series now also includes the UE-4-DP, which offers Display Port inputs instead of HDMI 2.0.

The UE-4-II and UE-4-K-II models can be cascaded together as well as cascaded with the Apantac Mi-8 12G-UHD, an 8x1 UHD multiviewer with inputs up to 12G SDI. The cascade feature ensures users can combine more source inputs as well as mix input formats on the same display - all without extra latency. For example, user can cascade one UE-4K-II with one UE-4-II and one Mi-8 12G-UHD, thereby displaying up to 8x HDMI plus 8x 12G SDI signals on the monitor and control up to four HDMI computers from a single keyboard and mouse. The maximum number of units in a cascade is four, with a maximum of four UE-4-II, two UE-4-K-II and one SDI multiviewer.

The KVM function allows multiple computers connected to the Multiviewer to be controlled via a single mouse and keyboard. Users simply move the mouse from window to window (on their display) to switch the control from one computer to another one. A single operator can visually monitor and control up to eight computers on a single console with a UHD or HD monitor. Via the single console, the user can easily switch between Multiviewer layouts using predefined keyboard shortcuts.
