Formerly Cinema Expo International, the newly styled CineEurope is celebrating its 20th anniversary
AMSTERDAM RAI/CineEurope, 28th June 2011 – Formerly Cinema Expo International, the newly styled CineEurope is celebrating its 20th anniversary (27th-30th June) at Amsterdam’s RAI, and Christie will again play a major role. Now the official convention of UNIC, the International Union of Cinemas, CineEurope will provide a glimpse into the future of cinema technology, which Christie has helped to pioneer.
Following on from IBC’s Digital Cinema Summit at the same venue last year, where Christie gave the first public showcase of 4K DLP Cinema technology, the company will showcase its first 4K DLP Cinema projector — the Christie CP4230 — at its booth in Hall 11 (Suite A).
Meanwhile, a second Christie 4K DLP® Cinema projection system will be on hand in the RAI Theatre, alongside Christie’s 2K DLP Cinema, to support digital screenings. Christie has been supporting digital screenings since the handover from Texas Instruments over eight years ago, when the company first screened Disney’s Finding Nemo at the show.
Christie will be supporting the screening of a number of studio product reels and features, including the Millennium Event Awards, Disney’s The Help and 20th Century Fox’s What’s Your Number?, and this year is particularly momentous as it sees Christie screening the final instalment of Warner Bros’ epic franchise Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 in Digital 3D on the final day of the trade show.
Other cinema-related equipment and product information available on the stand will include: Christie CDXL-SD Short-arc Xenolite® lamp series and Christie CDXL High performance lamp series; Christie CXL Short-arc xenon lamp series; Christie Cinema Multimedia Adapter (with or without AES) for alternative content display); Christie ACT Automation Controller, for digital cinema and post production — and finally Christie MicroTiles™, a major success at last year’s show, where they dominated the display.
Commented Richard Nye, Cinema Sales Director, Christie EMEA, “The range of our award-winning products demonstrates our desire to remain at the vanguard of display technology — from true 4K cinema capability with our DLP Digital Cinema projectors to the unique MicroTiles, which fulfills a wide range of digital signage requirements — particularly exhibitors.”
