Posted on Thursday, September 8, 2011
Iroquois, ON, Canada – September 8, 2011 – Since entering a long-term technology partnership with Ross Video in 2010, Gray Television, Inc. has purchased 18 OverDrive Automated Production Control Systems, with more implementations planned in the future.

The partnership provides Gray Television, headquartered in Atlanta, GA with the leading production automation platform enabling local facilities to produce local news in High Definition while simultaneously improving operational efficiencies. OverDrive technology contributes heavily to Gray’s mission of building the corporate brand by producing top-quality news and entertainment services for their local markets.

“I have had the pleasure of working directly with the Ross team since the beginning of our long term agreement, and can honestly say the impact for Gray has been tremendous,” said Jim Ocon, Vice President of Technology, Gray Television. “Not only have our operating costs been reduced but everything from integration to ongoing support at the lab and in the field has been an example I hold other vendors to. Their professionalism and understanding of what it takes to be a broadcaster these days is without equal. I cannot thank David Ross enough and I look forward to many more years of innovation by this fine company.”

“Gray Television has positioned themselves as the HD News leader in many markets by adopting Ross technology, and it’s an honor to help them get there,” said Jared Schatz, OverDrive Business Development Manager, Ross Video. “Like any good partnership, both organizations have benefited greatly. Gray Television stations have helped Ross advance our current offering while working closely with us on ideas for future workflows and technologies.”
