AmpliVox Receives 2014 Hero Award from Special Olympics Illinois

AmpliVox Sound Systems has been honored by Special Olympics Illinois (“SOILL”) with the 2014 Maggiano’s Hero Award, in recognition of AmpliVox’s donation of portable PA systems to all of SOILL’s area and statewide offices. Don Roth, Amplivox’s CEO, participated in the annual awards dinner at Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurant in Schaumburg, Illinois, on November 20.

AmpliVox was one of 10 honorees at the SOILL Hero Awards, which are given to individuals, groups or businesses that have shown exemplary commitment to SOILL and have made efforts to strengthen communities and improve the quality of life for Special Olympics athletes. Over 100 attendees gathered for the awards presentation, which was hosted by emcee Chris Boden of Comcast SportsNet.  Annie Carroll, SOILL Vice President of Area Management, thanked AmpliVox for its generous donations, noting that the portable PA systems enhance both the safety of the Special Olympics events and the positive affirmation of award ceremonies for the athletes.

“In 2013, SOILL surveyed our athletes and coaches asking them to rank the importance of the major elements of all Special Olympics competitions.  Safety of our events was ranked first, followed by awards presentations,” Carroll noted during the Maggiano’s event. “Our partnership with Amplivox in supplying SOILL with high quality PA systems has helped us make significant improvements in both areas. The AmpliVox sound systems have improved safety by allowing us to increase event-wide PA announcements and reach within our venues, and improved our awards  by giving the athletes the thrill of hearing their names announced during awards ceremonies and enhancing the awards experience for all of our athletes and the families/spectators that are there to cheer them on.  We are very fortunate to have the support of AmpliVox and access to their high quality equipment.”

AmpliVox’s Half Mile Hailer portable PAs were put into service at a number of Special Olympics events in 2014, including the annual Windy City Rubber Ducky Derby, Law Enforcement Torch Run Plane Pull, and Summer Games. The lightweight, easily portable 50W sound systems provide versatile amplification for all types of outdoor settings. To learn more about AmpliVox portable sound systems, visit www.ampli.com.
